Margo, Lava Hair’s owner, has been in the industry of making people look and feel gorgeous for over 20 years. She has trained all over the world with notables, including Vidal Sassoon, Rusk Academy, Paul Mitchell, and tops it off with Master Colourist credentials from Schwarzkopf. Margo is proud of her thriving boutique salon in the heart of Marda Loop, Calgary.

Diana has been a stylist for over 20 years. As an international educator in hair cutting & colouring, she has traveled all over North America and Europe. Her personal education includes Vidal Sassoon Academy, Matrix Academy, and the Sebastian Academy. With an eye for the stars, you can add working on movie sets as a Stylist and Makeup Artist to her repertoire. Diana is proud of her achievements, winning the Contessa award for Alberta Hair Stylist of the Year and finalist for Canadian Men’s Hair Stylist of the year.

Her dedication to the industry can be proven by the beautiful hair that leaves the salon each and every day. With over 15 years in the hair industry, Holley has gone through extensive training with Matrix and Schwarzkopf in cutting and colouring techniques with a strong focus on highlighting. Having taken multiple classes to develop her knowledge and techniques in bridal hair and updos, she also has developed a strong passion for styling hair whether it’s just for a relaxed daily look or a classic wedding updo! Holley is also a certified Babe Extension Specialist helping clients achieve fuller, thicker, and longer hairstyles.

Mandy-Rose is an experienced Hair Stylist of over 12 years in the beauty industry, having completed many courses on modern trends and methods. She specializes in creating dimensional blondes with a variety of blonding techniques like balayage, and her precision to detail makes her perfect for short hairstyles or bobs. Her warm and genuine personality will put you at ease during your appointment. Additionally, Mandy-Rose is also an accomplished painter - there's no doubt that you will love the results of trusting her with your look!

Jessica has been a Stylists for over 17 years and is fearless when it comes to her craft. At the beginning of her career, Jessica won the educational scholarship from Canadian Hairdresser magazine, which took her on various educational trips, including Vidal Sassoon academy in London, England. She is committed to sharing her gift of creativity with her clients, giving them current, edgy looks in both colouring and cutting.

Viri is passionate about hair and helping people achieve a hairstyle that not only looks fabulous but works well for their lifestyle. She enjoys constant training and always keeping up to date with the latest trends in the
hair industry. She has found her niche in difficult colour transformations mastering the art of balayage and colour correction. Viri is also a Babe Extension Specialist, specializing in tape-in and hand-tied installations. She is energetic and always up for any challenge, awarded the best hair in the Modern Rocks the Runway Fantasy Hair & Makeup Competition in 2018.

Jacy found her passion for the hair industry at a young age by watching her mother behind the chair. She loves to indulge herself in new information and staying on top of trends. She excels at colour and has extensive knowledge in extensions as a certified Babe Hair Extension Specialist. Her confidence behind the chair is obvious, Jacy’s communication and patience ensures she delivers the best she can for her clients.

Reko recently graduated from Delmar College of Hair and Esthetics and has blown us away with her ambition and new talent at Lava! Ever since she was a child, it was her dream to become a Hair Stylist and she finally made it into a reality. She is not afraid of a challenge and is an extremely fast learner. There are many parts of being a Hair Stylist that she enjoys, but her favourite part is styling and dressing hair.

We are very proud to have Abbie start her career at our salon. Born and raised in Calgary, her cosmetology passion was born at school, then blossomed with us through the years. She completed schooling and graduated from MC College. For the last couple of years she has been building, and continues to build, her abilities and clientele base. Ambitious, hardworking, and a new talent to look out for at our salon.

Alice's history with this salon goes back to her teenage years, when she started here as an assistant — on and off for a decade before she made it official. In between, she earned her BBA in Marketing from Mount Royal University and spent five years building a career in corporate marketing. But the beauty business never let go of her, and eventually she brought everything she'd learned in the corporate world back to where she started. Now she puts that marketing background directly to work for Lava, bridging the business side with the craft she grew up around.
